Facelifted Ford Endeavour spied on test

Ford India launched the second generation of the Endeavour in early 2016. However, the flagship SUV from the American manufacturer is in for a midlife update. A test mule of the Ford Endeavour was spotted, however the vehicle seen here is the pick-up variant of the Endeavour, popularly known as the Ranger.

The test mule of the Endeavour wears a heavy camouflage. However we may expect a restyled exterior. The fascia is expected to be more aggressive than the current car on sale. The side profile is not likely to be worked upon much, but we can expect a new set of alloy wheels with fresh design. The rear bumper is expected to be the same raised and upswept unit, but with a newer design.

Power source is not likely to change and the new car will continue to be offered with the same engines and transmission. The 2.2-litre diesel engine mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox could be the choice of the masses. Whereas the four wheel drive variant will be exclusively offered with the in-line five cylinder 3.2-litre diesel mated to a six speed gearbox.

Expect the facelift Endeavour to be unveiled in the international market early next year. However, the SUV is expected to reach Indian shore only in the latter half of 2018. After its launch here, the facelifted Endeavour will take a shot at dominating Toyota Fortuner’s territory with Isuzu MU-X and Hyundai Santa Fe competing in the same segment.
