Mercedes opens its second dealership in Hyderabad

Mercedes-Benz has thrown the doors of their new dealership, Silver Star in Hyderabad and this will be their second facility in the south Indian metropolis. Located in Banjara Hills, the showroom is spread over 20,000 sq.ft. and will also house Café Mercedes in the facility.

Mercedes is further strengthening the dealer base with this new Hyderabad dealership being its 87th outlet in as many as 40 cities across the country, the maximum for any luxury car maker in the country. Riding on robust sales figures, the three-pointed-star now has five dealerships in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana combined. The service facility and workshop of Silver Star is located in Sanathnagar and spread across 50,000 sq.ft., capable of servicing 6,000 vehicles per year.

Ronald Folger, MD and CEO Mercedes Benz India, on the occasion of the inauguration said, “The Southern market remains one of the strong growth drivers for Mercedes-Benz nationally, and we are satisfied with the steady demand for the brand in this important market. Strategic network expansion comprising introduction into new markets and expanding our presence in existing market, remains key pillar of our growth story in India.”

Mercedes-Benz has the widest range of cars amongst luxury car-makers in the country starting from the A-Class and B-Class hatchbacks, the Mercedes CLA, C-Class, E-Class, CLS and S-Class sedans along with the SLC and the S-Coupes. The SUV range has the GLA, GLC, GLE, GLE Coupe, GLS and the G-Wagon while it also has the Maybach range of super-luxury sedans including the flagship S600 limousine and the S500 saloon.

Mercedes-Benz GLA220d 4MATIC Activity Edition priced in India at Rs 38.51 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLA220d 4MATIC Activity Edition in India at Rs 38.51 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).  It is a four-wheel drive enabled version of the German automaker’s entry-level crossover and is priced Rs 3.4 lakh over the GLA200 CDI sport.

Firstly, this model is powered by the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine found in the other GLA models but it has now been tuned to produce 168bhp/350Nm with power going to all four wheels via a seven-speed DCT and Mercedes’ 4MATIC AWD system.

Dubbed the Activity Edition, it gets special decals, chrome garnish and 18-inch alloy wheels. In terms of features, this car comes with a new 8 inch media display, keyless start, rain sensing wipers and a 12V socket in the boot. This is the fifth addition to the GLA lineup and the sixth SUV option that the German automaker has for the Indian market.
